So, here is your pretty fansites theme. I decided to do this to help all webmasters who wants to make your fansite powered by Wordpress, but can’t manage the first theme.

So, what to do now?
There’s 3 folders under the zip file:
1. /ad/ - Upload the file under your ad folder.
2. /fansites-theme-1/ - Upload it under your WORDPRESSFOLDER/wp-admin/themes. Then go to http://YOURWEBSITE/WP_FOLDER/wp-admin/themes.php and activate your new theme.
3. /site/ - It’s your layout, you just need to upload it in your MAIN folder (public_html).

But BEFORE upload anything, there’s some things to edit.
Go to /fansites-theme-1 and open the footer and header files.
At header.php, edit the first line with your patch.
At footer.php, do the same at the last line.

Now, go to /site, and edit the header/footer with your images, and sidebar. I’m assuming you know how to work with headers and footers, but to prevent there’s a file named teste.html where you can edit your layout, and then transform it in footer/header.

So, that’s it. You can edit everything in this theme. Change colours, header, the image background, the menu style. Just play with the css. But, please, DO NOT remove the credit to the theme base. Be nice, okay?

So, let’s stop talking, go to the download:

TROUBLESHOOTING: Your themes doesn’t works?
Make sure that you:

  • Updated your patches into header/footer files (both, the theme ones and the layout ones)
  • Your style.css (the one inside the /1/ folder) is pointing to the right place (sometimes, it’s needed to insert the full url to the style, something like http://www.yourdomain.com/style.css)
  • Uploaded the fansites-theme-1 folder inside your WORDPRESSFOLDER/wp-content/themes
  • Activated your theme in your admin panel
  • Uploaded the files inside the /1/ folder - style.css, header.php, footer.php and index.php) into your root directory (public_html)
  • Your url is pointing, in the wp-admin panel, to the right place. To see this, go to your admin panel and check under “Options”, the WordPress address (URL) and Blog address (URL). The first ones need to be the directory where you installed your wordpress. The second one, the url of your index page.
  • - How to know my patches?
Well, I don’t know exactly but in all my sites, the user is exactly the same as the user login from ftp. So if your user login from FTP is “alba”, try to insert /home/alba/public_html/header.php and do the same to footer.php
If your patch is different, try to contact your host to know more about it.
